Five incredible movies that should be made into videogames
Although we see a lot of movie based games out there, most of the videogames produced to “tie-in” with a blockbuster release is shovelware. Surprisingly, there’s a few movies out there which would make killer video games… here’s my top 5 :

Max Max

Your basic videogame story : In a distopian future, a biker gang killed your family (you’re an ex-cop), and now it’s personal!
Think GTA, mixed with Fallout and a touch of Max Payne.

Escape from New York

Forget Solid Snake, enters Snake Pliskenn.
Set in the near future, in a crime-ridden USA that has converted Manhattan Island into a maximum security prison, you have 24 hours to find the President of the USA who’s just been captured by inmates after his plane crashed on the island.
You bring to the table all your ex-soldier expertise and your legendary fugitive status. Sounds like a cool standard Videogame script to me.

Tremors

I don’t know about you, but one of the fun levels I found in “Lost Planet” was that one where we were chased/chasing the big worm near the beginning of the game. What a nice idea of what a full fledged “Tremors” game would be. Of course it would help to have a few more game mechanics in there, but you have the stuff of videogame legends in this Kevin Bacon classic!

Serenity

To base a videogame on a great sci-fi story never hurt, does it?
What a great RPG style story with rich characters do we have in here. Think “Mass Effect” style, but with an even deeper sci-fi story.

Equilibrium

One word : Gunkata!
Make this game mechanic something really interesting and you have an award winner videogame in no time!
For those of you who haven’t seen this innovative (especially for the fantasy martial art technique of the “gun kata” in there) movie, run rent it now! And you’ll be dreaming of the day when a videogame is made based on this…
